Fall + Holiday minis
PLEASE FILL OUT FORM ASAP
I am looking forward to our upcoming Portrait Session! Here are some tips, important details and a form to fill out prior to your shoot. Please read thoroughly and let me know if you have any questions at all! Please also be sure to read the full service agreement and COVID-19 waiver to sign electronically prior to arriving.
SET OPTIONS + STYLING TIPS
2021 looks much different than it did last year when I was able to go all out with a designer to offer a wide variety of sets. With two wedding seasons jammed into these past few months, I’ve decided to scale back with the options. The natural grounds are always great for backgrounds and I will also have some more simple set ups and props on hand with Fall and Holiday vibes to add some flair.
While there will not be time to do complete outfit changes during mini sessions, bringing along a bag with a few things to play with (accessories, hats, cardigans, jackets, etc.) can make for great quick look changes that will give you a more diverse gallery of images to select from. I highly suggest dressing for warmth if it’s less than 50 degrees outside, especially any kiddos. My go-to’s are double socks/leggings, bringing cardigans/jackets you wouldn’t mind in photos, gloves that also give a pop of a complimentary color, scarves, hats(they make the eyes POP!) etc). The grounds in the fields and wooded areas can often be wet and are bumpy deer trails that I groom, I recommend sensible shoes and bringing along cute ones for any full body shots outside of the tall grass if desired.
When planning outfits, it’s best to think of complimenting each other rather than matching. Having 1 or 2 neutral tones mixed with colors that compliment each other is a great place to start. Reds, yellows and blues go nicely together. Purples, oranges and greens also are great with each other. I find that patterns work better on Men and children, and solid, deep hues with pops of a complimentary color on women tend to be the most flattering. Clothing should be form fitting, neither tight or baggy.
I encourage all parents to be prepared to jump in photos if needed for posing of little ones, even if you may be planning on sitting these out. Take the time to get yourself ready and feeling good. It’s so important to have family memories captured.
PLACE + TIME
Any lateness may result in your session time being cut short. Please be sure to arrive a little early to get situated, touch up any hair or makeup, stretch your legs and let the kids shake off any craziness or wake up if needed.
LOCATION:
144 Boght Road Watervliet, NY 12189
It is a green house with a blue/gray barn on the corner of Boght and Haswell Roads. Please enter through the Boght Road entrance and pull in as far as you can go, so we can keep a good flow for traffic. With COVID-19 precautions, I ask that you remain in or near your car until greeted by me or staff. There are most likely other sessions booked before and/or after yours and I want to be sure to keep everyone safe, contactless and have time to sanitize the sets and any props if needed.
Rain Date
In the event of heavy rain or winds on the day of our session, you will be able to reschedule to another date ASAP based on availability.
